Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch is still known as one of the best option quarterbacks in college football history and is one of the all-time greatest athletes to come out of the University of Nebraska. In his three years as starting quarterback for the Cornhuskers, Eric rolled up a 33-5 record, amassed 32 school records, and became one of three quarterbacks in NCAA history to rush for 3,000 yards and pass for 4,000 yards in a career. He currently owns the Nebraska career record for total offense yards with 7,915. In 2001, his senior season, Crouch, the consummate leader, was one of five team captains for the Cornhuskers, the first quarterback to earn that honor in over a decade, and he became just the 13th quarterback in NCAA history to rush and pass for 1,000 yards in the same season. That season, Eric led his team to the BCS national title game, was a consensus First Team All-American, and won a myriad of major awards including the Heisman Trophy, the Walter Camp Player-of-the-Year Award and the Davey O'Brien Award, given to the nation's top quarterback. He also appeared on the cover of the video game NCAA College Football 2K3. Prior to becoming a Cornhusker, Crouch was USA Today's Nebraska Player of the Year and a Parade All-American athlete at Millard North High School, where he was a two-time All-State selection at quarterback. Upon graduating with a degree in exercise science as a member of the Academic Honor Roll, Crouch was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. Throughout his career in the NFL, Crouch would also play for the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Eric now serves as a college football studio analyst on the Versus Network as well as appearing on the Sirius-XM Radio College Tailgate Show. He and his wife also own and operate Crouch Recreation, a company which designs and installs equipment for parks and recreational projects. Crouch resides in Elkhorn, Nebraska with his wife and two children.
